AlgoRave: a live workspace for music and visuals

The AlgoRave workspace, with a music-reactive shader and a collection of playable patterns

Live coding is one of the best-kept secrets in music: people writing a beat and a visual in real time, in front of a crowd. It is also hard to get into, because you first have to learn a language.

AlgoRave is my early attempt at lowering that step. Start with a pattern from the collection and a shader that moves to it. Change a line and hear the difference. Ask the agent for a techno kick, look at what it proposes, apply it or throw it away. The code stays visible and stays yours, so what you make can be taken apart and remixed by the next person.

What I am not building is another prompt-to-song box. If the agent hid the material, it would take away the part of live coding that is worth getting into.

It is in development and open to try at algorave.app.
