Retro Porting
Toolkit

Classic games with a future beyond their original hardware. Website and product presentation for a porting community.

The website for the community turning old games into native ports: the tools, the runtimes, the games, and the people behind each one. I built the site and its publishing system; the recompilers and ports are the community’s work.

Find the port, the tool, and the people.

Every game page links the runtime it uses, the recompiler behind it, and the project that maintains it.

Why I made it

Static recompilation lets a classic game run natively on modern hardware, free of the machine it was written for: higher resolution, higher frame rates, widescreen, and room for features that were never possible. I care about this because so many games I love never got a remaster or a modern port.

A community of tool authors and porters is making this happen, one game at a time. My part is the website: the information architecture, the presentation, and the publishing system that maps tools, runtimes, games and hardware to each other, with every port credited to the people who made it.
