A home for the Retro Porting Toolkit community
Static recompilation lets a classic game run natively on modern hardware, free of the machine it was written for: higher resolution, higher frame rates, widescreen, and room for features that were never possible. A community of tool authors and porters is making this happen, one game at a time.
I care about this because so many interesting games never got a remaster or a modern port. Preservation is part of it, but the bigger prize is better versions of games that deserve them.
My part is retroportingtoolkit.com: the site, the information architecture, and the publishing system that maps tools, runtimes, games and hardware to each other. The recompilers and the ports are the work of the community, and they are credited on every page.
